These terms are an agreement between you and Rememoir. They're written to be read. Using Rememoir means you accept them.
Everything you and your family put into Rememoir — stories, recordings, photos, chapters — belongs to you. Rememoir claims no ownership of any of it, ever. You give us only the narrow permission we need to operate: to store your content, process it to write and maintain your memoir, and display it to you and the people you invite. That permission ends when you delete your content or your account.
Rememoir is a conversational writing service. Remmy, your writing assistant, interviews you and drafts chapters from what you actually said. Drafts can miss the mark — you are always the editor of your own story, and nothing is final until you've made it yours.
Use Rememoir for its purpose: preserving real stories from your own life or the life of someone you love. Only record people who know they're being recorded. Don't use the service to harass anyone, impersonate anyone, or store content that's illegal to possess. Keep your sign-in to yourself — an archive is only as private as the account that holds it.
When you share your memoir or invite family to ask questions, you decide who gets that access. Links you share carry access with them — treat them like a house key.
Rememoir is in an early, invite-based release. The service is provided as-is while we build it: features will change, and despite real care, something may occasionally break. We work to protect every archive, and your own deletion and export rights are unaffected by beta status. To the fullest extent the law allows, Rememoir's liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you've paid us for it.
You can stop using Rememoir and delete your archive at any time — see Privacy for exactly how. We can suspend accounts that break these terms, but suspension never confiscates your content: you keep your right to a copy of your archive.
If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll tell you before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Rememoir after that means you accept the updated terms.
